Dartmouth House really does highlight what Mayfair has to offer. Bursting with history and pure British culture, it is an ideal destination for a unique wedding. We sat down with Aiste Lukminaite, Senior Sales Manager at Dartmouth House, to find out more about this unforgettable venue.
Tell us a little bit about Dartmouth House
A very special place in the heart of Mayfair, Dartmouth House is an exquisite location where style, quality and attention to detail combine to ensure a fabulous upmarket and luxurious private mansion house wedding venue.
A venue in the heart of London’s Mayfair is a selling point in itself. What else makes this place ideal and unique for someone’s big day?
Dartmouth House boasts one of London’s rarest features; an enclosed external courtyard. This elegant outdoor area is perfect for al fresco drinks receptions and a special place to mingle with guests over champagne and canapés after the ceremony. It’s pretty trickling fountain, wrought iron tables and chairs and European architectural styling combine to create the atmosphere of a chateau terrace and ensure a private and secluded setting in which guests can relax.
Can wedding ceremonies be held here or is the venue mainly for receptions?
Dartmouth House can accommodate a wedding ceremony for up 100 guests in our Churchill Room.
Please tell us a little more about the unique spaces in the venue and how they are used for weddings?
The Churchill Room is equally as sumptuous; the original grand ballroom of the property, it features a sparkling statement crystal chandelier and magnificent Louis XIV walnut panelling.
The Long Drawing Room and the Small Drawing Room are both tastefully decorated in a late 18th Century style in keeping with the history of the property and giving a grand and luxurious feel to both spaces. The Long Drawing Room is particularly special with its Adams fireplace, beautifully draped full length windows and ornately carved ceiling.
Have you had many requests for bespoke weddings/ unusual requests?
We love new ideas here at Dartmouth House – a simple ‘No’ does not exist in our vocabulary. Here the team strive on making these ideas/dreams a reality therefore we are able to accommodate bespoke weddings and unusual requests!

What is the most exciting wedding that has been hosted here and why?
Every wedding that takes place at Dartmouth house is unique and therefore exciting. Not one wedding is the same as the last one. We are extremely proud to be part of this special day and always strive to go the extra mile.
What is your favourite part of the job?
Seeing all of the little things coming together on the day and obviously the happy faces of the Bride & Groom.
What is the biggest lesson that you have learnt about weddings?
Listening and suggesting ideas. For most of the Brides & Grooms it is their first time in getting married and they do not always know what they want, therefore suggesting ideas of what has worked well previously gives them one thing less to worry about.
