1) How many people are the venues licensed to hold for a Civil Ceremony?
A maximum of 50 people in The Little Banqueting House. The King’s Guard Chamber and Great Hall are also licensed for civil ceremonies. This can take place in the evenings only, with maximum capacities of 120 and 200 people respectively.
2) Can we bring in our own florists, bands and/or photographers?
Due to the sensitivity of the building only those companies on our preferred suppliers list may be used as they are familiar to our surroundings and restrictions, and are Home Office security cleared.
3) Can we hire rooms past midnight?
If you choose to hire the Undercroft, you can hire the room past midnight for an additional fee of £1,000 + VAT, until 01:00, subject to approval.
4) Can you dance within the palace?
Due to conservation restrictions dancing is not allowed within the Palace State Apartments. However we do offer hire of the Undercroft (maximum 220) directly beneath the Great Hall for an additional cost. In The Little Banqueting House a marquee can be hired for dancing, choosing a supplier from our approved list.
5) Can Children attend our Wedding?
Children under the age of twelve are not permitted in the Palace State Apartments or The Little Banqueting House, please speak to a member of the Events team to see what options are available to you.
6) Are there any restrictions on dress code?
Stilettos with a heel smaller than a 5p piece are not permitted.
