Outdoor Wedding Venues in UK

There is nothing more quintessentially English than a rose garden in full bloom and if there is one thing that the Brits are good at, it’s grabbing the opportunity presented by good weather and getting outside for a bit of a do!

Spring is a wonderful time to take advantage of the beautiful collection of UK wedding venues offering outside space.  Blossom laden trees and a carpet of thousands of yellow daffodils start to make an appearance marking the end of the long cold winter. Spectacular swathes of spring bulbs pop up creating a veritable watercolour landscape, perfectly ready to complement the array of floral dresses and exuberant hats making their debut at elegant weddings up and down the country. As the seasons move into summer, an endless variety of blooms create a kaleidoscope of colour and wonderfully perfumed aroma’s,   days begin to lengthen and the heady scents of English flowers waft in the evening breeze.

Whatever your perfect wedding day dreams are, there’s an outdoor wedding venue to suit. Be it a heritage venue bursting with romance such as an historic castle with beautiful gardens, or the more bohemian, laid back vibe created by a marquee in a meadow. For the more adventurous, it might be a wooded glade in the forest for an enchanting ‘Midsummer Night’s dream’ style wedding combined perhaps with guest glamping opportunities.

Anything goes when it comes to the opportunities presented in the UK for the great outdoors, the bigger your imagination, then anything goes!  Waterside locations, be it a beach or a lake, are yet another possibility to consider, creating a near Mediterranean style affair. If a covered outside structure is available, then even better, providing a shelter against the unpredictable nature of the great British weather.

So if you’re hooked on the idea of an outdoor wedding, what should you be thinking about when setting off on your ‘perfect wedding day’ journey? Here’s a few things to consider:

1)      Have a back-up plan: what will you do if it rains? Does the venue have space indoors to accomodate your wedding party

2)      Comfort is the key: think about shady areas, sunscreen, parasols…

3)      Permits: contact your local government to get a permit for an outdoor wedding

4)      Do you need a sound system? Will everybody be able to hear?

5)      Catering: plan the menu to suite the facilities available to produce your requirements

At Hever Castle, we’re delighted to be able to offer a great solution for those looking for an wedding venue with outdoor space. If you’re sold on the thought of an outdoor wedding, do contact Elegant Wedding Venues and we will be delighted to advise on suitable opportunities within our fine collection of venues.

Whichever venue you choose, we hope you have a beautiful day!
